SOIL MOISTURE REGULATOR SYSTEM
Soil Moisture Regulator (Control) System ( SMR) is a promising technigue for small farming and researches demanding constant moisture level for a period of time. This system is still under develpment by Dr. TURGUT KUTLU. SMR system is initially tested by conducting lab experiments. The results of soils moisture levels created by the system were given by graphs below. As it is shown on graphics, by using this system, it is possible to keep soil moisture at any desired level continiously after system reaching to targeted desired moisture point.
SMR system has many benefits to faremers and researchers dealing with greengouse, garden and soil water. The adventages of the system compared to similar ones are
1- The system is self automated and no power is needed for irrigation.
2- SMR system irrigates just root region as much as plant requires.
3- Use of SMR results in an economical use of water by minimazing percolation and surface runoff.
4- This is hihly low-cost system.
5- Results of pitcher irrigation shows that this kind of technologies gives higher production compared to other irrigation technologies.
6- Weed can be better controlled
7- No environmental impact.
8- No labor required for irrigation, due to self control of the system
9- It decrase the amount of fertilizer used.
10- We can also use SMR system for other scientific researches due to the success on control of the moisture level
